Helping you find your way back to yourself.

Hi, I’m
Tierney Cauley

If you’ve been feeling mentally and emotionally exhausted, like you’re moving through your days but not fully present in them, you’re not alone.

Many of my clients seek therapy when something in their life no longer feels sustainable, and they begin to realize they’ve lost touch with their own needs, emotions, and sense of self. Inside, there’s restlessness, self-doubt, and a quiet sense of disconnection from their identity and purpose.

Through online therapy for anxiety and panic, trauma and PTSD, chronic stress, and emotional healing, I help adults slow down, make sense of what they’ve been carrying, and begin feeling like themselves again.

Together, we’ll calm your body and mind, explore the patterns that keep you stuck, and help you rebuild trust in yourself and your inner world.

Who I Help

I help adults who are motivated for therapy and ready to understand themselves more deeply.

Many are introspective, growth-oriented people who are functioning in their daily lives or staying busy to keep things together, but now feel disconnected, emotionally exhausted, or unsure of who they are. They may be navigating transitions, relationship changes, or simply a season of life that no longer feels aligned with who they want to be.

You may notice:

  • Feeling mentally exhausted and not like yourself anymore

  • Questioning your identity, values, or sense of direction

  • Difficulty relaxing, sleeping, or shutting off racing thoughts

  • Feeling disconnected from others or emotionally numb

  • A sense of emptiness beneath staying busy or holding things together

Who I Work With

I often work with creatives, driven professionals, and individuals in demanding roles who carry significant internal and external pressures, including:

  • Persistent anxiety, racing thoughts, or chronic stress

  • Complex trauma, relational trauma, or occupational trauma

  • Attachment patterns that affect trust, boundaries, and emotional closeness in relationships

  • Perfectionism, self-criticism, and fear of failure

  • Burnout and emotional exhaustion in caregiving or service-oriented roles.

  • Men navigating stress, emotional disconnection, or identity concerns

  • First responders coping with cumulative stress, relational issues, and repeated exposure to crisis

  • Major life transitions, divorce, career changes, or shifts in identity

These struggles don’t mean you’re failing.

They are often signs that you’ve been in survival mode for too long. Therapy in New Jersey, offered through secure telehealth sessions, provides a place to pause, process, and begin finding your way back to yourself.

My Approach to Therapy

Therapy with me is grounded, relational, and paced for safety. You don’t have to have the right words or know where to begin. We’ll start where you are and move at a pace that feels right for you.

  • I create a calm, steady space where you can slow down and breathe again. Nothing is rushed or forced. Whether we’re unpacking past pain or practicing new coping skills, you’ll always have room to process at your own pace.

  • Much of our work focuses on helping you understand yourself, your emotional patterns, protective responses, and needs, so you can move from disconnection to self-trust. Drawing from Emotional Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), we pay close attention to how emotions and attachment needs shape your sense of self and relationships. You’ll begin to see how your past has shaped your present and how to create new relational patterns that align with your goals and honor your feelings.

  • Healing happens through both the brain and body. I use evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Polyvagal-Informed approaches to help you better understand your internal experiences, reduce anxiety-driven patterns, and develop greater flexibility with how you respond to thoughts and emotions. This work helps you calm your nervous system, process trauma, and to make intentional choices that support a fulfilling life.

Modalities I Use

  • helps you to understand how your thoughts influence your emotions, behaviors, and patterns of stress or anxiety. CBT focuses on changing your relationship with your mind by identifying unhelpful thinking patterns and learning more flexible, intentional ways of responding, which can reduce anxiety and increase clarity and control in daily life.

  • Encourages awareness and acceptance of difficult internal experiences while helping you to handle difficult thoughts and emotions without getting stuck, and taking small, values-aligned actions that move your life in a meaningful direction.

  • A structured, evidence-based method that helps process anxiety, looping thought patterns and fears, traumatic or distressing experiences while also shifting deeply held beliefs. Overtime, memories, become less emotionally charged, feel less overwhelming and no longer define how you move through life.

  • Supports healing from attachment wounds by helping you recognize emotional patterns, express needs clearly,  form more secure, authentic relationships, and achieve emotional wellness.

  • Teaches you how to notice your body’s stress responses and use grounding tools to bring your nervous system back to safety and balance and to seek connection with others.

  • Combines insight, mindfulness, and self-awareness practices to help you reconnect with your body’s cues, restore balance, manage chronic stress, strengthen resilience, and enhance wellness.

What to Expect Working With Me

Initial Consultation

A free 15-minute call to share what feels hardest, ask questions, and see if we’re a good fit. You’ll leave with clarity and next steps.

Personalized Plan

In our early sessions, we’ll identify what you most want to understand or change. Together, we’ll create a plan that blends emotional insight with practical strategies for balance and self-trust.

Ongoing Support

Over time, therapy becomes a space to process experiences, deepen self-understanding, and practice new ways of showing up. You’ll start to feel more grounded, connected, and confident in who you are.

Starting therapy can feel vulnerable. My goal is to make the process clear and supportive from the start.

Why I Do This Work

I’ve always been deeply sensitive and emotionally attuned, someone who naturally noticed and cared about others’ inner worlds. My own life has been shaped by experiences that deepened my understanding of healing, resilience, and growth. Those experiences taught me the power of empathy, patience, and presence, and they continue to guide me every day.

I believe healing can come through making sense of your experiences and learning new ways to relate to yourself and the world, rather than trying to push pain away or pretend it hasn’t mattered. My approach is grounded in both evidence-based practice and genuine human connection, because true healing happens when insight is paired with safety to explore what’s beneath the surface.

I’m especially drawn to supporting people in roles of service and strength, those who give so much to others but rarely have space to pause for themselves. My goal is to help clients reconnect with their identity, improve their relationships, regulate their nervous system, and rediscover a sense of purpose, balance, and authenticity in life.
